We are finishing up our observation hours in the next couple of weeks. I remember my first prompt, I was amazed at how quickly September flew by, and look at us now! How are you feeling about finishing up? Are you sad to be apart from your students until next semester? Relieved to have a break? Excited to begin student teaching? How are you dealing with these feelings on top of the remaining work for the semester?"
This is the place where we will all gather in order post, share, and discuss our thoughts and questions with regard to classroom observations that we view out "in the field." Think about questions that you wish to ask your colleagues. We wish to spur as much discussion as possible.

ReplyDeleteIt's a very bitter sweet feeling finishing up our last semester before student teaching! I am very sad that I am departing from my students but will be very happy to see them in January! Although I love being with my students and enjoying my time at Caldwell I am looking forward to relaxing for Christmas and the month of January. I am very nervous for student teaching but I know that once I get over that obstacle I'll be to teach my very own class. The work is very overwhelming since we're hitting the end of the trail, but once I submit my assignments, I know it'll all be worth it!
I'm relieved to be finally finishing up the semester as it has not been an easy semester for me. It's been hard to juggle all of my classes, pass the praxis, work on my senior e-portfolio for my English major, complete my observation hours, and do my lessons. Now as I reflect on everything I realize that next semester will be a bigger challenge that I will have to overcome. I'm excited and really nervous to start student teaching in the Spring but I just have to be optimistic. All of these feelings have created anxiety for me and I have just been having to stop and take a deep breath. I'm hoping to finish the semester off strong. For the meantime I'm just looking forward to relaxing, spending time with friends and family and getting into the Christmas spirit! -Adelkis
ReplyDeleteIt is so surprising how quickly this semester flew by! I am definitely excited to have a little break. I am going to miss my class during the break, but I am very excited to come back in the spring. I am excited to get even more involved in the classroom and taking that next step.
