The way I am dealing with classroom management is to ideally model positive and appropriate behavior. Another way to manage classroom management would be setting goals, rules & boundaries. I feel like I could improve by involving parents and/or guardians to help in developing a well rounded safe classroom environment. My cooperating teacher has taught me more about classroom management from how she communicates and respects her students and the respect they give to her. And because of my cooperating teacher, I would recommend making respect the center of your teaching framework. Not only does it establish rules and guidelines but it teaches students the appropriate way to treat individuals of authority as well as fellow peers.

  2. I feel as though I have a good grasp on classroom management in my classroom and even my cooperating teacher said that I am handling everything in the class very well and the students are responding to me the way that I should. My cooperating teacher has taught me a lot in terms of not only how to communicate well with the students but also how to take control in the classroom especially on a day when the students are testing your patience. I think it takes time and experience to have excellent classroom management skills but I do think seeing it from a teacher that excels helps a lot

  3. I think I am doing well with classroom management. I am in a kindergarten classroom so of course there are some days where the students are having an off day and will get up or call out. When this happens, my cooperating teacher and I remind students how they should be sitting and that they need to raise their hands. I think the best classroom management skill is modeling. It is so important to treat your students with the same respect you expect from them and that you model positive and appropriate behavior. Another thing that is important is communicating with parents. When parents are informed of what their child is doing in the classroom, they can work on things at home to reinforce what is being done in school.
